The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress has decided not to nominate a candidate for the Chief Ministerial Portfolio.

Speaking to our news team, SLMC's national organizer, Shafeek Rajabdeen stated that a decision regarding this will be made after the election.

In a press conference held today in Colombo, the UPFA expressed its views regarding the SLMC's decision to contest for the Eastern Provincial Council Election alone.

Speaking at the press conference Minister Dallas Alahapperuma stated that the SLMC contesting by itself will not be a problem for the UPFA.
