Activities at several court complexes throughout the island were severely hampered due to the protests launched by attorneys today, in dissent against the acts of vandalism committed on the Mannar District courts.
A group which had expressed their dissent against a court ruling had carried out attack on the Mannar court complex.

Meanwhile our news team obtained the views of the Sri Lanka Bar Association in this regard. Secretary of the Bar Association Attorney at law Sanjaya Gamage noted that all suspects connected to the incident should be immediately placed under arrest.
Meanwhile the JVP which condemned the attack on the Mannar court complex issued a media release. Party Secretary Tilvin Silva expressed these views at a subsequent media briefing.
Meanwhile Minister of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Rishard Bathiyutheen has been accused of intimidating the Mannar magistrate over the
the phone. Speaking to our news team Police Media Spokesperson SP Ajith Rohana noted that the Mannar Magistrate had lodged a complaint at the police in this regard.
Moreover Minister of Justice Rauff Hakeen expressed these views concerning the alleged involvement of a minister behind the Mannar court complex attack.
Meanwhile the Colombo Magistrate Court lawyers Association has unanimously approved of 4 proposals concerning the Mannar court complex attack.
The Association commends the Mannar Magistrate on his bravery and independent decision which was done undauntedly in the face of alleged political threats.
It furthermore condemns the heinous attack which was carried out on the manner court complex, urging the authorities to apprehend those responsible.
