Body of man who committed suicide found in Mahaweli River

The body of a man who committed suicide by jumping into the Mahaweli River from the Peradeniya Bridge has been recovered.

 

The police media unit stated that the man committed suicide on Thursday and his body was found yesterday.

 

The body is currently lying at the Kandy Hospital pending a post mortem.

 

The man has been identified as a 47 year old resident of Rikillagaskada.
