India scores 314 for 6 in the first ODI against SL

The first One day international between Sri Lanka and India commenced at the Mahinda Rajapakse Stadium in Sooriyawewa, Hambantota this afternoon.

 

India won the toss and elected to bat first and at the end of their allotted 50 overs scored 314 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.

 

Virat Kohli scored 106 and was ably supported by Virender Sehwag who scored 96 before being dismissed and Suresh Raina added the needed impetus to the scoring by contributing a quick fire 50.

 

For Sri Lanka Thisara Perera picked up 3 wickets while conceding 70 runs.

 

Sri Lanka suffered an early blow with Nuwan Kulasekara going off the field after sustaining a groin injury.
