The United National Party states that students hoping to pursue their higher studies are facing many difficulties due to the GCE A/L Z score issue.
UNP General Secretary MP Tissa Attanayaka expressed these views at a media briefing held in Colombo this morning.
Meanwhile, parliamentarian Namal Rajapakse has made a request for students who qualified for university entrance under the old and new Z score calculations to be granted entry in to universities.
The MP noted that a special discussion was held yesterday with the President regarding this matter.
He added that Minister of Education Bandula Gunawardana and Minister of Higher Education S B Dissanayaka were also present at this discussion.
The MP had made a special request for all measures to be taken to ensure that no student faced an injustice.
MP Namal Rajapakse also noted that there is insufficient time for students who need to re-sit the examination to prepare.
He said a solution for this matter too is expected during the next couple of days.
Discussions were also held regarding permitting students who sat the exam for the third time to face the exam for a fourth instance.
MP Namal Rajapakse spoke to our news team about the discussion held on the Z Score issue and the outcome.
