The Officer in Charge of the Laggala Police has been relieved of his duties after failing to submit the postal votes of the officers at the police station.

The incident is said to have occurred during the 2010 general elections.

The postal votes were rejected by the returning officer due to late submission.

The same officer was previously indicted for failing to investigate a traffic accident.
