The farmers of the Kala Wewa H Zone are currently engaged in a protest at the centre of the Tambuttegama town.

The farmers are demanding for compensation to be paid for their crops that were damaged by the drought.

Our reporters in the area indicated that the protest has brought traffic on the Anuradhapura – Kurunegala road to a complete standstill.

Some of the farmers engaging in the protest expressed their views.
