The Ceylon Petroleum Cooperation notes that it has received 40 complaints regarding stalled vehicles which had been running on diesel issued to fuel stations by the Kolonnawa regional bulk depot.
A senior official attached to the CPC, expressing his views to our news team added that these complaints had been received at the regional arms of the CPC.
According to him, a senior government minister is also amongst those who had lodged complaints in this regard.
The CPC notes that any further complaints in this regard could be directed to the Kolonnawa Oil Storage terminal or the main office of the CPC located at Dematagoda.
Meanwhile the issue of substandard fuel was taken up at a media briefing convened by the United National Party in Colombo today.
Expressing his views during the media briefing, party MP Gayantha Karunathilaka stated that the public of the country were unable to draw on benefits of prices in crude oil diminutions in the world market, owing to such gaffes.
