The Ceylon Petroleum Cooperation has carried out two special investigations with regards to contaminated diesel supplies.
According to a spokesperson for the cooperation these tests were carried out within the special laboratories of the oil refinery complex.
The results of the tests which have been carried out so far have ruled out contamination.
However due to receiving several complaints with regards to stalled vehicles running on supposedly contaminated diesel supplies, steps were taken to send several samples of fuel to Dubai.
The final results of these tests will be received by the CPC this evening.
A senior officer for the CPC however noted that a contamination could be surmised from the complaints it had received so far.
Moreover our news team was also alerted concerning several stalled vehicles which had been fuelled with diesel.
Around 60 to 70 private buses had stalled within various parts of the island during the past 48 hours.
Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association Gamunu Wijerathna expressing his views to our news team in this regard attributed the stalling of buses to a malfunction in the filter system which had been induced by contaminated diesel.
