Doctors of the Central province go on strike

Doctors belonging to the Government Medical Officers Association have decided to engage in a trade union action today.

 

Media Spokesperson of the GMOA Dr. Naveen De Soysa stated that this action will be carried out until the Provincial Councillor who verbally abused a provincial health directress and assaulted a community health specialist.

 

 

Central provincial Community Health Specialist Sapumal Danapala has been hospitalized after being assaulted by the provincial councillor.

 

Central Provincial Health Services Directress Dr. Shanthi Samarasinghe stated that the provincial councillor in question had verbally abused her and threatened her while she was in the midst of a presentation.
