The UNP has appointed a committee to building an extensive convention for discussing the problems in the Education sector.
The committee is to be headed by former High Court Judge
W. M. T. B. Waraa-wewa, while Dr. Nirmaal Ranjith Dewasiri, Joseph Stalin, MP Akila Viraaj Kaariyavasam and former Examinations Commissioner A. M. R. B. Amarakoon have been named members of the committee.
Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe held a special discussion with 34 Education-related organisations at the parliament complex yesterday with regard to the problems that have arisen in the education sector.
Participating at the occasion MP Kabeer Hasheem said that the Government wanted to make education sub-standard like the distribution of sub-standard fuel and cement.
