Teacher services trade unions state that a large number of Advanced level students have been greatly inconvenienced due to power cuts the island over.
Moreover these trade unions charge that the government disregards the requirements of the countries student population.
Chief Secretary of the LTSU Mahinda Jayasinghe speaking to our news team expressed these views.
When our news team made inquiries in this regard from Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board Professor Wimaladharma Abeywickrama he noted that CEB was attempting to limit power cuts to day hours.
Due to a failure at the Norochcholai power plant power cuts will be in effect throughout the island under 4 phases from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
Each phase of the power cut will be in effect for 2 hours & 15 minutes.
