Former Chief Minister of Tamil nadu M.K. Karunanidhi states that the TESO conference or known otherwise as the Tamil Eelam conference which is due to commence in Chennai, Tamil nadu on the 12 of next month does not pose a threat to Indian national security.
Issuing a media release Karunanidhi has states that the goal of the conference was to discuss the grievances of Sri Lankan Tamils.
Several Tamil political parties of Sri Lankan origin were also invited to partake in the conference while the Democratic National Front headed by former parliamentarian Mano Ganeshan is also amongst those who had been invited.
However, speaking to our news team the former parliamentarian noted that a final discussion will be held today to decide on the party's stance regarding the conference.
Dr. Wickramabahu Karunarathne of the New Socialist party who is also scheduled to participate at the conference held a media briefing in Colombo today.
However addressing the briefing he stated that the Indian High Commission was yet to present him with a visa.
