The Sri Lanka motor vehicle traders association states that the cost of a vehicle is subject to increase by around 30000 rupees due to transhipment costs at the Magampura port in Hambanthota.

Chairman of the SLMVTA Thilak Gunasekara the additional costs incurred during transportation of these vehicles from Hambanthota to another location have attributed to a possible price hike.

He also noted that the price of a motor bicycle has also increased by 15000 to 20000 rupees.
