The government has decided to reduce the registration fees & renewal charges

applicable to news web sites.

Earlier the government decided to impose a registration fee of rupees one hundred thousand on news websites while the annual renewal charges were

set at rupees 25,000.

However cabinet approval has been received to revise the registration charges to 25,000 rupees while the renewal fee has been reduced to 10,000 rupees.

Moreover Cabinet spokesperson Minister Keheliya Rambukwella also expressed his views regarding the beleaguered Z score issue during the cabinet media briefing which is currently underway in Colombo.

Expressing his views Minister Rambukwella noted that he was of the firm belief that the issue should be resolved only through legal means.
