The Ministry of Health has decided to introduce a set of regulations intended to be in beauty parlours and cosmetic sales outlets.
The decision comes in the wake of several complaints being received at the National Drugs and Cosmetic Authority that substandard cosmetics and apparatus are being used to treat consumers.
Recently a 58 year old male in the Opatha area in Kahawaththa died due to
an allergy caused by a variety of hair dye he had used.
Although at present a set of regulations implemented by the Ministry of Health
are in effect it is reported that no adherence is paid.
Hence the subject ministry is in the process of introducing the new set of regulations.
