President Mahinda Rajapaksa has requested public representatives and officials not to lay a foundation stone for any development project for which funds have not been allocated.
Participating at a Galle District Development Committee meeting the President instructed that in implementing development projects action should be taken on proper plans and considering the needs of the people.
The President also made inquires regarding the Koggala Bus Stand which is not being used even though its construction has been completed.
Addressing the group regarding the construction activities of the Ganegoda two-storey building the president had this to say.
Meanwhile the new Divisional Secretariat built at Ima-duuwa at a cost of 25 million rupees was declared open by the President yesterday.
