Government rules out Muslim Congress in Alliance

The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress as well as the National Congress are currently accusing each other over the altercation which broke out between aides of both parties in the Addalachchenei area in Ampara recently.

 

Addressing a media briefing held in Ampara today Leader of the National Congress A.L.M. Athaullah noted that the attitude of SLMC supporters had led to the clash.

 

 

However SLMC Leader Rauff Hakeem speaking to our news team yesterday

expressed these views concerning the altercation which had transpired.

 

 

Meanwhile during a media briefing convened today a journalist made inquiries in this regard from General Secretary of the UPFA Minister Susil Premajayantha inquiring of him as to what course of action will be implemented concerning the two parties embroiled in the altercation.

 

Speaking here General Secretary of the UPFA Minister Susil Premajayantha ruled out SLMC as an affiliate of the alliance.

 

 

Meanwhile Deputy Chairman of the SLMC, Former Provincial Councillor Abdul Majeed made the following observations concerning Minister Rauff Hakeem’s statement.
