The ministry of Health has decided to ban foreign doctors who have not verified their details from taking part in health camps organized in the North by Non Governmental Organizations.
The ministry further stated that it receives numerous requests from NGOs for permission to conduct health camps in the North and that these NGOs employ the services of foreign doctors.
The ministry also stated that numerous issues have arisen over the qualifications of these foreign doctors and that incidents have been reported where patients have experienced difficulties following treatment by foreign doctors.
Therefore the Ministry has stated that if a NGO wishes to obtain the services of foreign doctors, the NGO must provide the ministry with all the information regarding the doctors and obtain permission
The ministry also stated that doctors who have not had their information verified will not be allowed to take part in health camps.
