International involvement is not necessary says Sathish Kumar

BBC news has reported that human rights activist are advocating that the Sri Lankan government should obtain the assistance of the UN in order to conduct an investigation into the prison clash that resulted in the death of two LTTE detainees whom the human rights activists have claimed were political prisoners.

This clash occurred when the LTTE detainees incarcerated in the Vavuniya Prison took 3 prison wardens hostage.

Senior advisor to the Ministry of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms M. S. Satheeshkumar stated that unbiased investigations are already underway regarding this incident and that an international involvement is not necessary.
