11 suspects including Tangalle District Urban Councillor Anjana Liyanage who were placed under remand custody in connection to abusing an underage girl
were enlarged on cash bail today.
Each suspect was enlarged on a cash bail amounting to 25 thousand rupees each and two personnel bails amounting to rupees one million each as per the orders of Tangalle District Magistrate Yuresha De Silva.
The passports of the suspects were also impounded by court while they were concurrently ordered to be present before the office of the Tangalle Superintendent of Police on the last Sunday of each month.
09 other Suspects who were arrested on a previous occasion in connection to the incident were released, while the proprietor of the inn-in-dispute was re-remanded during today's trial.
The owner of the inn was extended his remand sentence for having attempted to mislead court by producing his younger son in place of his oldest.
The case is due to be taken up again on the 29th of this month.
Meanwhile Former Chairman of the Akuressa Pradeshiya Sabha Saruwa Liyanage & his Brother-in-Law who were arrested in connection to a child abuse incident still continue to remain under remand custody.
The court case against the suspect will be heard next Month.
Meanwhile the Bibila police has received a complaint that the son of the Bibila Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman had committed an act of sexual exploitation by accompanying an underage girl to an undisclosed location.
