Seminal Statistician Professor R.O. Thatil states if the Department of Examinations decides to award points to students based on the errors appearing on the Advanced Level Examination papers which have concluded at present,
such a decision may effect an adverse effect on the Z score formula.
The Commissioner General of Examinations earlier in a statement noted that
full marks would be awarded to students concerning a compositional error which appeared in the combined maths paper.

Meanwhile the Federation of University Teachers had decided to boycott the correction of Advanced Level examination papers.
However the Lanka Teachers Union noted that teachers attached to the union were unable to render their assistance in professional matters concerning the correction of advanced level examination papers perused by university lecturers.
