The People's Action for Free and Fair Elections or the PAFFREL organisation

filed two individual complaints before the Elections Commissioner & Inspector General of Police today respectively, with regards to an illegal election propaganda rally that had been in contravention to existing election laws & had impinged on the advanced level examinations being held at present.

According to PAFFREL an UPFA election rally which had commenced procession before an Advanced Level Examination Centre in Anuradhapura had caused disturbance to students sitting the exam.

Executive Director of PAFFREL Rohana Hettiarachchi expressed these views to our news team concerning the organisations complaints.

Meanwhile the Election Watchdog Group states that an illegal election propaganda rally was held at the home of former Chief Minister of the Sabaragamuwa region Maheepala Herath who incidentally is in contention

during the upcoming polls as well.

The rally had been held with the participation of state sector employees, which is considered a breach of the elections act.
