Bodies of a family from Kotagala discovered at a home in Wellawathta; several days subsequent to murder

03 bodies believed to be that of a mother, father & daughter were discovered by police this afternoon while lying at a house located in the Wellawaththa-Ramakrishna-Terrace area.

 

According to Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana the cause of death surrounding these individuals is yet to be ascertained.

 

The Colombo Crimes Division has been assigned to investigate the crime.

 

 

Meanwhile today marks one month since the dual murder of a mother and daughter in the Kahawaththa, Kotakethana area.

 

No suspects have been arrested in connection to the incident which transpired on the 19th of last month.

 

The mother had been 63 years at the time of her untimely demise while the daughter had been 32 years of age.

 

Subsequent to the murder, the inhabitant's home had been set ablaze.

 

Meanwhile the United National Party had organised a demonstration in the Kahawaththa town today denouncing the incident.

 

Expressing her views during the demonstration, United National Party Parliamentarian Thalatha athukorala stressed that it was the responsibility of the

government to bring to book those responsible.

 

Moreover Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana expressed these views with concern to the investigations being probed in this regard.
