Monday, 20 August 2012 - 07:08 PM

United National Party Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayaseka has been issued notice

to be present before the parties disciplinary committee.

Speaking to our news team MP Jayasekara noted that he had received a written notification from the parties disciplinary committee in this regard.

The letter sent to MP Jayasekara demands explanation from him based on 8 points including his verbal criticism during the appointment of key party office bearers.

Meanwhile General Secretary of the UNP has submitted a report to the party's disciplinary committee concerning the recent statements of MP Dayasiri Jayasekara.

The report has been compiled based on the instructions received by party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The party leadership chargers that the actions of MP Dayasiri Jayasekara have

been in contravention of the parties best interests & had led to tarnish its image.

When inquired from a member of the UNP's disciplinary committee it was stated that a final decision regarding the report will be reached upon the arrival of Presidents Council Thilak Marapana who is incidentally the Chairman of the UNP's Disciplinary Committee.
