Fires continue to consume the Knuckles & Buththala

The Ministry of Disaster Management states that the fires which erupted in the Eastern escarpment of the Knuckles reserve still continue to rage.

 

Affected areas also include the Yudaganawa & Puhulgala reserves located on the Eastern escarpment of the Knuckles reserve.

 

Deputy Director of the Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Kodippili expressed the following views to our news team concerning the raging inferno.
