Seychelles President James Alix Michel congratulated President Mahinda Rajapaksa for resolving a very difficult conflict in Sri Lanka and restoring peace in the country..
The President pointed out the necessity to protect resources in the Indian Ocean in collaboration with the other countries in the region.
He was participating in a bilateral meeting with President Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo yesterday, the first day of his three day official visit to the country.
Both Presidents agreed on the need to protect the Indian Ocean and its resources as the Ocean belongs to the countries of the region.
President Michel said since Sri Lanka and the Seychelles share the same ocean, others should not be allowed to exploit its resources in a manner disadvantageous to both countries.
