The main suspect connected with the triple murder that occurred in a three-storey house on the Raamakrishnan Road in Wellawatta is scheduled make a confession before Colombo additional magistrate A. Nishaantha Peiris today.
When suspect named Prasaad Kumaaraswaamy, a resident of Kotagala, was arrested by the Wellawatta police and produced before the Colombo Additional Magistrate Kusalaani Ayodhyaa Punchihewaa yesterday, he was prepared to make a confession with regard to the incident.
The Magistrate informed the suspect to think further and decide about making a confession, and that if a confession was made it would have to be accepted at a high court hearing as well.
The magistrate instructed the Prisons Supervisor that facilities for legal advice should be provided to the suspect if he needed.
The Colombo Additional Magistrate ordered that the suspect be remanded till 4th September.
On this occasion the Police informed the court that body specimens of the dead had been sent to the Government analyst for medical research
