The Ceylon Electricity Board declines claims that the Chinese engineering firm in charge of the construction work at the Norochcholai coal power plant has not admitted to issuing notice on a specific date where repairs at the rundown power plant would near completion.
Speaking to our news team Deputy Chairman of the CEB Anura Wijepala noted that the Chinese company in charge of restoring the Norocholai power plant had issued written notice to the CEB that the plant would be restored back to normalcy within 6 more days.
Recent media reports speculated that the Chinese engineering firm in charge of construction at the power plant was unable to issue a clearance date as to when restoration work at the power plant would conclude.
Moreover engineers attached to the CEB have also been lending their cooperation to the Chinese engineering team.
Speaking to our news team head of the CEB engineering cohort Nandika Pathirage added that the Norochcholai power plant would be restored within 5 more days.
