The Ceylon Electricity Board states that around 4 more days would be
required to carry out reparation work on the transformer located at the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant.
Deputy Chairman of the CEB Anura Wijepala added that a decision regarding
the implemented power cuts would be drawn subsequent to the restoration work of the transformer.
Meanwhile energy Expert Thilak Siyambalapitiya states that Sri Lanka
would re- experience power cuts yet again within 4 years.
Speaking to our news team Siyambalapitiya noted that although construction activity of the Sampoor power plant should have neared completion by now
authorities had failed to do so.
