The President has requested that animal sacrifices are not held during the period of exposition of the Kapilavastu relics in the country.

President's Media Director General Bandula Jayasekera confirmed this.

Meanwhile the JHU has thrown down a challenge to the Chilaw Munneshvaram Sri Bhadrakaali Kovil authorities to hold the annual animal sacrifice openly to all media.

JHU Media spokesman Nishaantha  Sri Varnasinghe  told our news team that his party vehemently decries such acts carried out under the pretext of religious freedom.

Our news team inquired about the JHU challenge from  the Priest in
charge of the Chilaw Munneshwaram Sri Bhadrakaali Kovil, Kaalimuttu Sivapaada Sundaram.

Meanwhile Paelmadulla Divisional Councillor Venerable Bowatta
Indraratna Thero representing the JHU, told our news team that the
animal sacrifice that is imminent should be prevented somehow.

The Venerable Thero said that if it is not prevented he would register
