During a media briefing convened by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Today journalists queried Minister Dullus Alahapperuma on the veracity of speculations that the country's opposition was attempting to recreate a common alliance.

Moreover United National Party recently charged that the government was attempting to gain political leverage by organising the exposition of the Sacred Kapilawathu relics in electoral provinces.
UNP General Secretary Thissa Aththanayeke made these observations during a media briefing held in Colombo recently.
Adressing a rally held in Ampara yesterday, Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe too expressed his views concerning the exposition of the Kapilawasthu relics.
Speaking here Wickremesinghe asserted that the relics belonged to the Chief Disciples of the Buddha, Arahath Sariyuth & Arahath Mugalan.
Meanwhile addressing a UPFA media briefing held in the country's capitol today, Minister Dullus Alahapperuma filed a reply to Wickremesinghe's statement.
