During a media briefing convened by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Today journalists queried Minister Dullus Alahapperuma on the veracity of speculations that the country's opposition was attempting to recreate a common alliance.

The following was Minister Alahapperuma's response.

Moreover United National Party recently charged that the government was attempting to gain political leverage by organising the exposition of the Sacred Kapilawathu relics in electoral provinces.

UNP General Secretary Thissa Aththanayeke made these observations during a media briefing held in Colombo recently.
