Minister of State Administration & Home Affairs W.D.J. Senevirathna states that tomorrow has been proclaimed a day of mourning and not a national holiday.

Minister Senevirathna expressing his views to our news team stated that government had declared Monday 3rd of September as a day of national mourning to mark respect for the death of Most Venerable late

Weweldeniye Medhalankara Thero, the Chief Prelate of the Sri Lanka Ramannya Chapter.

Accordingly, all liquor shops and bars will be closed on Monday.

The final rights of the late thero will be conducted with full state honours tomorrow at the D.S. Senanayake national school grounds in Meerigama at 3 P.M.
