The overall poll results of the Polonnaruwa district have been issued.

The UPFA has obtained 104 thousand 165 votes and therefore has won 6 seats in the Polonnaruwa District.

The UNP has obtained 69 thousand 943 votes and won 4 seats while the JVP has managed to obtain 4382 votes and failed to win any seats in the Polonnaruwa district.

The UPFA has won the Polonnaruwa district by 34 thousand 222 votes.

Compared to the 2008 election, the UPFA's votes have reduced by 3745 and the number of votes for the UNP has increased by 6678 votes and the JVP votes have reduced by 2999 votes.

Ilangai Thamil Arusa Kachchi obtained the highest number of votes in the Trincomalee district with 28 thousand 67 votes.

SLMC obtained 8642 votes while UPFA obtained 7949 votes.

The Kalkuda electorate in Batticaloa has been won by the UPFA which had obtained 22 thousand 965 votes while the Illangei Tamil Arasu Kachchi had obtained 21 thousand 876 votes and the SLMC had obtained 8604 votes.

The postal votes has been won by the Illangei Tamil Arasu Kachchi which has obtained 3238 votes while the UPFA has obtained 1428 postal votes and the SLMC 443 postal votes.

The Samanthure electorate has been won by the SLMC.

The SLMC has obtained 25 thousand 611 votes while the UPFA has obtained 12 thousand 610 and the Illangei Tamil Arasu Kachchi has obtained 8767 votes.

The postal vote's results have also been issued.

The UPFA has obtained 5342 postal votes while the UNP has obtained 3458 postal votes and the SLMC 1721 postal votes.
