UPFA emerges final victor of polls establishing power over all 3 provinces

The final results of the 2012 provincial polls which was held to elect members to the North Central, Sabaragamuwa & Eastern provincial Councils has been released.

Accordingly, The UPFA has emerged victorious at North Central Provincial council garnering 338,552 votes which in turn gave the ruling party 21 seats.

The UNP meanwhile was able to obtain 196,127 votes at the North Central provincial council securing victory over 11 seats.

The JVP was able to obtain 16,066 votes securing one seat.

Continuing its victorious trend over Sabaragamuwa as well, the UPFA was able to secure victory over the province obtaining 488,714 votes.

The UNP meanwhile obtained 286,857 votes in the Sabaragamuwa province which gave the party 14 seats.

The Ceylon Workers Congress which was able to obtain one seat each from the Districts of Kegalle & Rathnapura secured 2 seats at the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council.
