An Army major who was allegedly said to have been attacked by the son of Minister Mervyn Silva has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital this morning.
According to police the altercation had occurred at a five star hotel.
A spokeswoman for the Colombo National hospital added that the victim was sent into surgery following his admission.
Moreover she added that the victim had been administered stitches to his head.
The victims condition however has been termed not serious.
The army media unit states that an investigation is currently underway regarding the incident followed by a complaint which had been lodged at the Slave Island police.
Commenting on the incident Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana Stated that the service fire arm issued to the major had also been seized by Minister Mervyn Silva's Son.
