The Illangei Thamil Arasukatchi Party states that it has already extended an invitation to the SLMC to establish power in the Eastern Provincial Council.
Party Parliamentarian Suresh Premachandran expressing his views to our news team noted that his party had already established power in the East assisted by the UNP & SLMC.
However the UPFA maintains the lead in the Eastern provincial Council having garnered 14 seats.
Speaking to our news team ITAK parliamentarian Suresh Premachandran expressed the following views concerning his party’s decision.
Against this backdrop Minister Dullus Alahapperuma states that the ITAK does not possess an ethical right engage in such an attempt.
Moreover the SLMC states that it maintains the crucible balance over establishing power in the East.
Deputy General Secretary of the SLMC Nissam Kariyappar noted that the party’s Supreme Committee was due to convene over the matter in the near future.
General Secretary of the UNP Thissa Aththanayeke meanwhile had this to say when journalists queried him regarding the UNP's stance over shift of power in the East.
