The Ceylon Electricity Board says that the full 300 megawatt capacity of the Norochcholai Power Plant that had been inactive was added to the National Grit from yesterday.
CEB Vice Chairman Anura Wijepaala told our news team that the power plant has by now been brought back to normalcy fully.
The Norochcholai power plant had become inactive on August 8th as a result of a failure of an electricity supply line.
Subsequently local and Chinese engineers were engaged for a number of days in an effort to bring back the power plant to normalcy.
However the effort was unsuccessful on several occasions.
However the CEB deputy Chairman said further that it was possible to restore normalcy to the power plant fully from yesterday.
