Former Chief Minister of the Eastern Provincial Council Shivanesathurei Chandrakanthan is slated to meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Media Spokesperson of the TMVP Asad Maulana speaking to our news team noted that the meeting was scheduled to take place within the course of this week.
The Former TNA Spokesperson who contested Saturday's polls under the UPFA banner obtained the highest number of preferential votes which stood at 22 thousand 338.
The UPFA meanwhile was able to obtain 14 seats during last Saturdays polls, while the TNA, SLMC & UNP were able to garner 11, 07 & 04 seats respectively.
The national freedom front in a first time bid was able to secure a seat in the East.
It is reported that the Rajapaksa regime is currently engaged in discussions with the SLMC with one of the stipulated conditions on offer for a power amalgamation being the Chief Ministerial post of the East.
According to the Spokesperson of the TMVP Asad Maulana, the former Chief Minister of the East is due to take up this concern during his discussions with the president.
