U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Robert O. Blake arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday on a three-day official visit.

Blake will meet External affairs minister Professor G L Peries, government officials and civil society representatives to discuss various matters.

A meeting is scheduled to take place between the US Assistant Secretary of State and the TNA this morning.

TNA MP M. A. Sumantiran told our news team that they hoped to discuss
about the country's current situation at this meeting.



Meanwhile opposition political parties express different opinions about the visit of the US Assistant Secretary of State to Sri Lanka.

In this connection the UNP says that the Government had no definite view about the foreign policy.

UNP Deputy General Secretary MP Dr. Jayalath Jayawardhana expressing
his views about this stated as follows



JHU Media spokesman Nishaantha Sri Warnasinghe said that there was a
suspicion with regard to the US representative's visit to Sri Lanka.
