The External Affairs Ministry states that the government is considering lifting its travel advisory on Tamil Nadu after monitoring the situation in Tamil Nadu where Sri Lankan pilgrims came under attack.

When queried by our news team Director of public relations and communications of the External Affairs Ministry Sarath Dissanayaka stated that discussions are currently been held with this regard.

Meanwhile, the Indian government assured safety and security for Sri Lankan citizens visiting the Southern Indian state.

After the recent attack on Sri Lankan pilgrims in Thanjavur, the load factor in flights from Colombo has drastically reduced.

At a time when Sri Lanka was planning to increase its services to Colombo by three more flights in its winter schedule, the decrease in incoming passenger trend has come as a great blow to airlines.
