The University Grants Commission has given a time period for applying for university admission  to  students who had not done so based on last year's GCE A/L results.

In a communiqué issued by the UGC, it is said that students who have not thus applied for university admission could send their applications to the UGC till 28th instant.

As a result of a crisis situation that had arisen with regard to last year's GCE A/L 'Z' score,  application for university admission had been delayed.

The Supreme Court asked  the UGC day before yesterday  to admit another 5609 students in addition to the students admitted for 2011/2012 academic year.

The Supreme Court asked the UGC in doing so to follow the new District and national rankings issued by the Examinations Commissioner
