A senior spokesperson for the SLFP noted that the party has already decided on its nominations for chief ministerial posts in the 3 provincial councils in which polls were held recently.
The names of those nominated is due to be published over the weekend or on Monday.
Meanwhile informed government sources state that leader of the TMVP & Former Chief Minister of the East Shivanesa-thurei Chandrakanth alias Pilleyan
is due to be designated as the Chief Minister of the North.
In the wake of the governments' decision the SLMC is of the stance that the party should receive the 2 bonus seats in the East.
A senior spokesperson for the SLMC expressing his views in this regard noted that the SLMC also required a cabinet ministerial post as an auxiliary requirement.
The names of 4 candidates were nominated for the office of the chief minister North Central Province.
These names comprise of S.M. Ranjith, Former Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayeke, & Former Minister H.B. Semasinghe who represent Anuradhapura.
Moreover it is reported that a councillor who was elected to Polonnaruwa during the recent polls has been nominated as a favourite for the office of the chief minister in the north central province.
However according to sources Former Chief Minister of the Sabaragamuwa province Maheepala Herath is due to be designated as the chief minister of the Sabaragamuwa provincial council.
In related developments the United Peoples Freedom Alliance today handed over its nominations over at the Elections Secretariat for the bonus seats which the party garnered during the recently held provincial polls.
Meanwhile Sirikotha states that the 3 opposition leaders & organisers for the 3 provincial councils representing the United National Party have been named.
Kings Nelson has been nominated the opposition leader of the North Central provincial council while Chaminda Gamage has been appointed the Chief Organiser of the province.
Meanwhile Thusitha Wijemanna has been appointed the opposition leader of the Sabaragamuwa provincial council while Hasitha Muhandiram has been appointed its chief organiser.
Moreover Daya Gamage has been nominated as the group Leader of the Eastern provincial council.
