Representatives of UN Human Rights Commissioner due in Sri Lanka

The representatives of the UN Human Rights Commissioner Navaneedan Pillai are due to arrive in Sri Lanka today.

The Ministry of External affairs states that the Hanney Mogali, who is the chief for the Pacific, North African and Middle Eastern regions along with Octar Soleri and Aswa Petra will remain in the island till the 20th of this month.

The main objective of the visit by the delegation would be to provide technical advice regarding the proposals adopted against Sri Lanka at the UNHRC summit held in Geneva.

Further this delegation will lay the ground work to facilitate the arrival of the UNHRC Commissioner Navaneeda Pillai.
