The representatives of the UN Human Rights Commissioner Navaneedan Pillai arrived in Sri Lanka today.
The Ministry of External affairs states that the Hanney Mogali, who is the chief for the Pacific, North African and Middle Eastern regions along with Octar Soleri and Aswa Petra will remain in the island till the 20th of this month.
The main objective of the visit by the delegation would be to provide technical advice regarding the proposals adopted against Sri Lanka at the UNHRC summit held in Geneva.
Further this delegation will lay the ground work to facilitate the arrival of the UNHRC Commissioner Navaneeda Pillai.
According to a spokesperson at the Ministry of External affairs this delegation is scheduled to tour the North and East.
Speaking at a press conference held in Colombo yesterday the national organizer of the JHU Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe expressed the views of the JHU regarding the government's activities.
