The Tamil National Alliance states that the votes which the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress garnered in the Eastern PC polls were votes which were cast against the government.
Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today, Leader of the TNA, Parliamentarian A. R. Sambanthan added that it was maintaining vigilance over the SLMC's impending decision over in the East.
However SLMC Leader Rauff Hakeem made the following comments during a media briefing which was held in Colombo recently.
However during today's TNA media briefing the Parties Leader parliamentarian R. Sambanthan noted that his party was prepared to host discussions concerning the East provincial council with President Mahinda Rajapaksa, provided that the invitation was extended by the president himself.
Moreover, Sambanthan also reflected on recent sentiments echoed by the
United States Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert O. Blake, in reviving stalled talks between the TNA & the government.
