Refining of petroleum at Sapugaskanda stalled

Trade Unions attached to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporations Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery charge that a loss of around 25 million rupees is being incurred at the facility on a daily basis due to required repairs not being carried out.

Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporations Jathika Sewaka Sangamaya Ananda Palitha speaking to our news team stated that if the situation continues to persist it may jeopardise activities at the plant.

However speaking to our news team CPC's Refining Operations Manager

Neil Jayasekara stated that the situation at present only affected the petrol refining terminal.
