A team currently in the island representing United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navaneetha Pillai is due to tour the Jaffna area tomorrow.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs the team is set to measure the progress of development activities carried out in the North.

Members of several human rights groups are also said to accompany the team during their visit.

A meeting between the visiting delegation & Minister of External Affairs Professor G.L. Peiris was held on Friday.

The days proceedings between both parties are said to have focussed on the findings of the Lessons Learnt & Reconciliation Committee.

The aim of the visiting delegation remains to provide the government of Sri Lanka with the technical know-how concerning the resolution which was adopted against the country during the UN's Human Rights Council session in Geneva.
