Political sources reveal that the swearing-in of the newly appointed chief ministers for the North Central, Sabaragamuwa & Eastern provinces would take place prior to the presidents tour of India which is due to commence on the 19th of this month.

According to sources a decision regarding the appointment of the Chief Minister of the Eastern province is most probably due to be drawn this evening.

In the event of the Chief Minister of the East being nominated this evening the swearing in of the newly appointed chief ministers is most likely to take place tomorrow.

If officials are unable to formulate a final decision regarding the appointments by this evening, the swearing in ceremony is will be scheduled for later, subsequent to the conclusion of the presidents visit to India.

Sources also state that the former chief minister of the North Central & Sabaragamuwa provinces are to be re-appointed as the new chief ministers of the two provinces.
