Patriots caution against power formulation in East

Discussions concerning the Eastern provincial council continue to dominate the political arena over a power sharing deal between the countries leading political parties.

 

Discussions are currently being held between the UPFA, TNA, & Muslim Congress.

 

However convenor of the Federation of National Organizations Dr. Gunadasa Amarasekara addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today noted that there was a risk of a separatist state being established in the East if another party instead of the government established control over in the province.

 

 

Meanwhile the All Ceylon Muslim Congress joined by the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress have proposed former parliamentarian Ameer Ali for the office of the Chief Minister of the Eastern province.

 

Speaking to our news team Ameer Ali noted that two rounds of discussions had been held with President Mahinda Rajapaksa in this regard.

 

Incidentally former Parliamentarian Ameer Ali contested the previous provincial polls in the East under the UPFA ticket.
